Decorative Concrete in Friendswood

Mature trees, older pools, and decks that have had decades to show their age.

Friendswood has some of the most established tree cover of any suburb on this side of Houston, and that shapes the condition of the concrete underneath. Shade keeps surfaces cooler, which is good, but it also keeps them damp, which is not.

The combination we see most is an older pool deck with organic staining — the dark patches that leaf litter and standing water leave in porous concrete — plus surface wear from thirty or forty years of use. Neither comes out with cleaning once it is in the slab.

Resurfacing covers the staining permanently rather than fighting it every spring, and a mould-resistant product keeps the shaded areas from going back to the same condition.

What we do in Friendswood

Overhanging branches are worth trimming back before a deck job. Not essential, but a coating lasts longer when the surface gets a chance to dry out between rains.
