Pool Decks and Patios in Sugar Land

Established neighbourhoods where the pools are old enough that the deck is showing it.

Sugar Land is a more mature suburb than much of west Houston, and that changes the work. Many of the pools here have been in the ground for twenty or thirty years. The pool itself may have been replastered once already, but the deck around it usually has not been touched since it was poured.

A deck of that age typically has three things going on at once: colour that has faded unevenly, surface spalling where water has got in and frozen or where chemicals have sat, and a texture that has worn smooth in the paths people actually walk. All three are addressed in a resurfacing job.

The advantage of an older property is mature trees, which take some of the heat load off the deck. The disadvantage is leaf litter and shade keeping areas damp longer, which is where staining and slickness tend to start.

What we do in Sugar Land

On an older deck the first question is always whether the slab is still sound. Cracks that move with the seasons need addressing before anything goes on top. We check that before quoting rather than after.
