Decorative Concrete in Memorial

Wooded lots and 1960s and 70s homes with pools that are now original features.

Memorial was largely built out in the sixties and seventies, and many of the pools here date from the same period. The pool itself has usually been maintained; the deck around it frequently has not been touched since the original pour.

A deck of that age in heavy tree cover accumulates problems slowly: leaf tannin staining that will not wash out, surface erosion from decades of pressure washing, and a texture polished smooth on the routes people walk. None of it is dramatic year to year, which is exactly why it goes unaddressed for so long.

Resurfacing resets all of it, and the texture decision matters here — a shaded deck that stays damp is slippery far more often than an open one.

What we do in Memorial

Tree roots are the thing to check first. Where roots have lifted a section of slab, that has to be dealt with before coating, or the movement comes straight back through.
